There's a pretentious bar/restaurant in SLC called The Rest that used to have fantastic food a few years ago. They had a burger that was phenomenal, can't even remember what was on it but I just remember it being one of the best I had ever had. Kitchen staff must've changed hands too many times because food had gone downhill and prices way up last time I went there, burger was gone too. Shame. Otherwise, there have been times where a good, fresh QP with cheese from McDonald's is just incredible. I used to think that In-N-Out was the best fast food burger but it's nowhere near as satisfying as a good McD's burger. Hell, even a solid Wendy's burger is better than In-N-Out. Wendy's isn't as consistent as McD's but when they're good they're really good.

Found an old pic of their menu on Yelp, apparently the burger had baked beans, cheddar, chipotle garlic slaw, charred onion, BBQ aioli, crispy pickled fresno chili, and pickle (regular I guess?). Kind of a fancy take on the "western/BBQ" burger. Sounds like a total mess of a meme burger but I remember it not being messy at all and very well composed flavor wise.

Used to be a burger place about 10 minutes from my house called The Red Onion. Nothing particularly special or unique but for some reason their burgers were just head and shoulders better than anything else I've ever had, at least from my point of view. They changed management and while their food stayed the same they added a bunch of new menu items, went on too many vacations and didn't do enough to attract people from the neighbourhood and they went out of business. It's some kind of Chinese noodle house now, and I haven't had a truly satisfying burger since. What a fucking shame.

I love Taco Bell! My regular order is a steak chalupa, a chicken quesadilla, two beefy five-layer burritos, and a large Baja-Blast#&8482. I have a secret trick, too... For extra flavor, I like to ask for a cup of red sauce on the side for dippin'! Taco Bell is really just the best option when you're coming home late from a party, and the quality is so consistent because it's hard to mess up when everything on the menu is made from the same five ingredients.
