In your opinion
what alcoholic drink, cocktail, single spirit or whatnot is the most relaxing to drink?
Whiskey is a no brainer but the abv is too high and it oxidises if you try to savour it for too long so i usually opt for a hot toddy or black tea with bourbon both to lengthen it and cause warm diluted bourbon with herbal shit is a match made in heaven

Whiskey and tequila turn me into a fucking monster and wine makes me sleepy. I can only drink gin or vodka these days. A good beer is my go-to still.

A stone cold beer on a hot summer day. There's nothing quite like it.

A good Planter's Punch variation is up there for Chinese food, and the Stone Fence is good for any roast (2:1 cider and rum - proper, "hard" cider, mind you), but frankly, my favorite one of them all is the Star Cocktail, which is apple brandy - generally a Calvados or an Applejack - and sweet vermouth, plus bitters - basically an Apple Brandy Manhattan. It's absolutely delicious.

What kind of bitters? just the description sounds delicious

hot toddy is GOAT
i also like hot mulled cider with whiskey but it has to be on a cold winter day

most of the time i drink sparkling water with white wine or vodka because it throttles me. i like to drink a lot.

Wine, easily. It's extremely chill to just sit in front of my PC on a Friday night, a glass of red wine in my hand, as I lurk and chill and listen to music and become more intoxicated. It makes you feel hot and passionate: the music flows through you so well, you begin to feel everything so intensely. You watch a movie that's even the slightest bit emotional, you'll end up crying; you watch fantasy or sci-fi, you will be so engrossed and in awe.

Beer causes you to bloat and burp, so it's physically uncomfortable, although not terrible; in addition, the intoxication it gives is only okay. However, I will admit that drinking it makes me sleep really well.

Liquor - gin, whiskey, vodka, tequila, etc. - are not at all relaxing. They give you a crazy, incoherent kind of drunk, and the hangovers are terrible. It's honestly not even all that relaxing - it makes you aggressive.

Wine easily wins for giving the best and most relaxing drunk state.

based alcoholic
carbonation usually ruins the relaxation bit for me so i go for that earlier in the day or with friends

>>14049844
can you recommend any wines? the people i know have no specific taste in alcohol and are honest about it, the only ones who care to pretend are single malt fags

Sure. If you're a beginner, I recommend red blends: they're approachable and good, solid choices. But if you want something more, I recommend Pinot Noir and Grenache.

No sweet wines, that's a big no-no. Also, avoid wine cooler or cheapo brands like 'Barefoot' or 'Yellow Tail'. A decent cheapo brand is 'Rex Goliath'.

I hear liquid codene is pretty relaxing. Mix it with grape juice so the kids don't accidentally drink it

favoring Jager and lightly sweetened tonic water as the cozy cocktail of choice lately, especially if you can add orange bitters or an orange peel. Lots of spicy, warm, peppery flavors.

Have you tried hot mulled hard cider?

Mulled hard cider sounds hearty as fuck though

Mulled hard cider is the traditional way, unsurprisingly. The idea of cider as sweet cider rather than hard cider is very new.
