This is the best start to a beer thread I’ve seen. All quality beers! I’ve never had a Unibroue brew I haven’t liked. Having recently moved to the west coast Dageraad has been scratching that same ictch.

I imported a case of that last Christmas.
Never tasted a beer like it, it's definitely unique.
It's extremely smokey and extremely alcoholic, tastes like drinking slightly sweet smoked ham that's been doused in dark strong alcohol and goes down super smoothly.

You can just down bottle after bottle and be completely hammered before even realizing.
Not really my thing, but it was worth giving a taste imo

Märzen is the one that's pretty much pure uncondensed smoke from Aecht Schlenkerla.
Their Urbock is only available around October-November and is the one beer of their's that really stands out above the rest in my opinion.

It's really good. Combines those traditional smokey Rauchbier flavors with the deep and layered chocolate/fruit/alcohol taste of a Bock, definitely recommend giving it a go if you only know them from their Märzen, it's in a league of its own.

Just tried my first IPA
Had a nice orange scent but the second it hit my tongue it just became bitter as shit to a point that I had to force myself to finish the bottle.
Is that normal? Are they all like this?
I read they were a bit bitter, which I didn't think I'd mind since I drink Pilseners and so on anyways, but this was completely beyond what I expected and not exactly enjoyable.

Old Ras is the perfect balance of dark and bitter, it drinks like a much lighter beer despite its big flavors. I've accidentally gotten hammered a few times because of how drinkable they are.
