What does /ck/ keep their salt in? All the pros seem to have a box with a hinged lid, but searching salt box brings up magnetic lids.

I got one for salt when you could only find them as "cheese servers" several years ago, it works great for that.

I use one of these for sugar.

Do you have any tips for stopping it from sticking together? It isn't hard to unstick it with a quick smack, but if there's a way to prevent it altogether like putting popcorn kernels in salt shakers I'd like to know it.

Eh, only way to do that is somehow get it fully sealed so air can't get in.

just use a bowl or one of those flat bottomed containers that people bake mini pies in

Idk why you need a lid on your salt, not like roaches are gonna be attracted to salt or anything.

I've got ten different kinds of salt last time I counted. The stuff I cook with the most, diamond kosher, lives in my huge stone pig mortar and pestle. Some is in grinders, most is in the containers it came in. My Celtic grey sea salt is in a cloth bag in a wooden box. I only use it to finish really impressive stuff when I have people over for dinner.

I used to go nuts with different types of salt
in the end all you need is something for pinching
a grinder for serving if you want, or flaky salt
and a flavoured salt, I like smoked salt

you grind out full teaspoons of salt for each recipe?

you hold the thing over a pot of water, letting the moisture clog it up?

I like my setup. I used to have a slightly nicer salt caddy with tinted green glass but lost it while moving. Pretty sure this >>13978973 is the one I got to replace it and it's not the best (I completely forgot it came with a spoon; I threw that thing in the junk drawer first thing).
