Redpill me on Thai restaurants
I've never had curry before but I'm getting treated to some thai take out tomorrow and I'm CURRYious to try it.
I can handle my spicy pretty well, and the spice rank goes up to 5. I was thinking a 3 to start with? I can handle habanero no problem, if that gives you any idea of what would be too much.

>> No.13972008

Completely varies by restaurant.

Most of the time they just look at your face and guess what you can handle and spice it accordingly no matter how hot you ask it.

We're probably going to call it in or order it online though, since eating in is not an option with the COVID.
Will they still be racist and hold out on the spice? I mean, that's fine for some people but I know what I'm in for and if I can't handle it then it's my fault, not the restaurant's fault.

if it's staffed by actual thai people (not laotian or guatemalan) the highest spice level should be pretty spicy
get a few dishes to share
thai food other than just curry is good

I would, but the person I'm eating with cannot handle spice AT ALL. Literal white female boomer who thinks pepper is too much.
I'm guessing she's in for a surprise no matter what she gets lol

This comment confuses me. It's typed like those two countries are related or even close to each other.

the spiciest dish i've ever had in my life was from a place in DC called regent thai, beef pad gra prow. the spice levels were mild, medium, hot and thai street hot so of course i had to get the last one. was sweating profusely eating it and shitting out whole slices of chili peppers hours later.

my mum likes it. I can't stand pretty much any of the noodle dishes.
I always just get green curry, which is usually spicy enough but never stupid hot
apparently penang curry isn't spicy.

But what spice level do you indicate? They have it on a 1 to 5 scale where I'm going, I don't wanna get some pussy shit but I also don't want to feel like I'm dying. Is 3 the way to go?

Yes. We’ve established this.

Get 3, and if you're the same guy as the one who is eating with a person who can't handle spice they should get something with absolutely no heat like Pad Thai or Pad See-Ew. Both are noodle dishes, Pad Thai is very popular and has thin noodles with peanuts, bean sprouts, egg, a really nice tangy sauce and some sort of meat or shrimp. Pad See-Ew is very wide flat rice noodles with meat, a few kinds of broccoli, egg, and sometimes another veggie or two with a sweeter sauce which is very good.

You cum addled smooth brain cock smuggler. Nobody here went to your specific restaurant. There isn't a international treaty standardizing shitty thai take out. You want it hot? Order the fucking 5, not hot enough? Stick some on your urethra. Too hot? Great! You didn't get 'pussy shit', not that you ever got any pussy but good on ya mate. Stupid fucking troglodyte.

Better go with two unless you want stomach aches all night long. Another thing Thai restaurants are extremely expensive with little portions and charge you for white rice.
