Based on my personal experience. Local prices may vary depending on which parts of the following countries you're from.

>Australia
Tun. $30 for a 24pack.
>New Zealand
NZ Lager, $16 for a 12pack but sometimes goes a dollar or 2 cheaper in a sale.
>Canada
Ol' Milwakee, used to get a 15pack for $20.
>Japan
Barreal, the MaxValu store brand. 400yen for a 6pack.

Now the actual cheapest way to get drunk....

>Australia
Goon (boxed wine). $9 for a 4L bag.
>New Zealand
Wine. Can usually get a bottle for under $7 at the supermarket.
>Canada
Okanagan/Grower's Cider. $9 for a 2L bottle, 9%.
>Japan
Boxed Shochu (Rice whisky). Can usually get 3L or 4L of local stuff for around 600yen, 25%.
Other option is whisky. Go to Gyomu Super and you can get 750mL bottles of scotch for 500yen.
