What's your favorite hole-in-the-wall place?

Pic related. Great cheap Chinese food. They burned down sometime in the early '00s.

I though hole in the wall meant you stood on the street and were served through a window, that the place wasn't big enough for you to go inside. Does it just mean small restaurant?

Chas Market and Kitchen in San Antonio. It's a Korean BBQ where you cook the food yourself on an electric grill built into a wooden picnic table. You can't take home leftovers and you have to bring your own beer or wine. It doubles as a grocery store and is located near a train yard and highway in a neighbourhood notorious for shootings. It's my favourite and so weird that it doesn't even make sense

The little seafood shack over on the docks. You have to pull in off a main road onto a dirt road that's hella long until you reach it. The interior is very old-school with wood paneling, old black and white photos all over, mounted fish on the walls, plus a few booths where you can sit. You order at the counter and they call you when its ready. They also sell raw stuff you can take home. But nothing beats a fried seafood combo platter with fries eaten by the water.

There's a Vietnamese cafe downtown that has somehow stayed open all these years in my declining city where nothing stays open more than a year before they go bankrupt and move.
They have amazing hand made egg rolls and an amazing pork noodle bowl.
I took my wife there the day I took her virginity back when we were like 15 kek. Yeah I married my highschool gf.

You know you're in for good food when the menu is poorly xeroxed and hand laminated, and half the prices have been rewritten in felt pen at least twice.
It was hilarious awhile back when one of the staff thought they'd curb the graffiti by tiling the walls with vinyl, but then people either started ripping the tiles off or writing in paint pens or otherwise carving with knives. Lasted all of a couple months before they gave in and just let the graffiti cover ever square inch of the walls.

There's this great local diner in my town called Denny's. The staff is always friendly and the food is great, best part is they're open 24/7! They advertise themselves as America's Diner and I think that is spot on. They have this thing called a Grand Slam, it's a great deal and fills you up with yummy breakfast food.

Eh... It's discount diner quality. Their man source of income is cheap chinks and native addicts living on welfare. You get what you pay for, but fuck it's bad when it's crowded. I'll only ever go there on a weekday when nobody's around. Mr. Bon himself is sometimes in there doing paperwork and shit on one of the spare tables if it's an off day. Nice enough guy.
You should see the bathrooms.

It’s such a boomer dad trope it’s amazing they lived as long as they do. Everything artificial and mass produced, except the thing you’re sitting on.
