Grilling meat avoids any of the daintier and artistic /intellectual details of cooking, such as finely slicing vegetables or carefully blending ingredients. You control the heat, and throw a hunk of meat on it. Meat is dead body chunks, that's "hardcore".

It's stereotypical but fairly obvious as to why, and for what it's worth I hate those overcompensating "art of manliness" type faggots.
