I don't think you're the great cook you think you are anon. I cook burgers well done and they aren't dry or gross, but juicy and nice smoky crust.

So, maybe you should get some skill, use that thermometer earlier, stop flareups, pat burger properly, seal in juices, rub in olive oil, make them thicker, indirect heat, figure your shit out, or maybe you need to start making "meatloaf" burgers with some onions, mushrooms and other filler that will absorb some moisture since the other things you do suck.

You argument is the same myth that a steakhouse proper chef won't cook a steak well done "because he knows it's bad" and it's just your ignorance.

I feel like cooking ground beef pink on the inside is uniquely american. Clearly its not completely catastrophic since you're seemingly not getting food poisoning all the time...but do people not realize that unlike a steak which has an uncontaminated inside, all the ground beef has been exposed to contamination. I understand a little pink doesnt mean it hasnt been cooked hot enough (safe temp =/= brown) but why do people have to sear a steak yet leave ground beef uncooked?

Americans do get food poisoning all of the time, though. Their meat is contaminated with feces and other hormones/chemicals and they STILL eat blood red burgers.
