Hey /ck/!

Since the weather's getting nicer out (at least in most of the US) and a large chunk of us have nothing but quarantined time on our hands, what better time to talk about BBQ.

I'm getting ready to smoke a pork tenderloin tomorrow, it's been in brine for a day now. I'm looking for a decent sweet and spicy rub, if anyone has any recommendations.

Aside from me what are your best BBQ resources that aren't those stupid yuppie recipe blog sites?

Get an off the shelf rub, there is a reason why it sells, want it sweeter add brown sugar, want it hotter add some jalapeno powder

>looking for a decent sweet and spicy rub,

I just layer seasonings on anything I'm going to smoke, then top it off with brown sugar.

Starting with:
1. Salting the entire outside of the meat.
2. Black pepper lightly
3. cayenne pepper to taste
4. garlic / onion powder to taste
5. top it off with a heavy coat of brown sugar

Tried using a smoker but it's always too windy when I finally get to it. I do want to try a smoked head of cabbage though, and also some cashews and almonds.

i want to grill some ribs but none of the stores here in denmark have anything that isn't complete garbage. I think i might go to a butcher's shop later today and see if i can get something good.

You don't need sugar. Let the pork caramelize on its own.

Absolutely not and retarded reason. Look up recipes online for what you're trying to achieve and just mix the ingredients yourself. It's never unusual spices. I almost always just use salt pepper brown sugar vinegar cumin and paprika
