I want to incorporate more fresh garlic into my diet, both for my health and because I really enjoy garlic. I know cooking it removes some of the nutrition, but I'd like to enjoy it on its own if I can find a way. Besides eating it raw, are there ways to make garlic a tasty snack, such as seasoning or sauteing it? I'm not picky and I enjoy strong flavors.

Also sorry if I broke any rules, never been to /ck/.

mince a few cloves and mix them in raw with pasta just out of the colander and the sauce you've made

also, not raw, but confit some fucking garlic and just keep the jar handy. it's like candy

if you wanna consume it raw, mixing it with paremesan cheese is pretty good.

Minced garlic thrown on a salad with an olive oil/ red wine vinegar dressing adds a nice bit of spice to the salad.

Pickling then for roasting them in the open with a bit cut off the top and oil for about half hour on 350 and tinfoil. Makes you feel healthy

as far from raw as it gets but roasted garlic is the GOAT topping/spread
>cut top off garlic
>drizzle with olive oil
>bake until mush inside

Good suggestions. Do any of you enjoy just popping one in your mouth? I like onion raw, would that be comparable? I've been doing simple things in the kitchen to learn, like candying citrus peels, making syrups, and fat washing whiskey, but I'm craving garlic so I'm looking forward to doing something different.

Make toum. It uses up a lot of garlic and is very strongly flavored. It goes good on everything. It's basically just a garlic emulsion

I'm a big fan of Chinese quisine.
>in b4 bat soup

In xinjiang (West China) they have really fatty lamb and or Goat dishes covered in Cumin, and chilli powder mixed with onions or sections of flatbread. So fucking good but very heavy and fatty.
At a few bbq places I had been to they will eat a clove of raw garlic with a chaser of fatty meat to smooth it over.
It's pretty good, but I'm not sure if you can do it a lot, I didn't try.

If you slice garlic, or chop it, saute it in a pan until golden brown, it will take most of the harsh flavors out that a lot of people don't like and will have a nice mellow flavor.

If you mince it or turn it into a paste, the flavors will be sharper, which most people don't like.

OP garlic is just a vegetable with vitamins and antioxidants like every other vegetable. It's not going to cure whatever's ailing you aside from constipation.

Had this eastern Euro dude working the maintenance for us that ate so much garlic he left an odor behind that lingered overnight until the workers came in the following morning. They complained to the point they had a sit down with the guy and told him to lay off the garlic or get laid off the job. Probably eating it raw, but it was leaking out of his pours and smelled like a weird, garlicy b.o. combo that was terrible. Cook that shit, dude.

Nothing's wrong with me, but I do have IBD and high triglycerides, but otherwise healthy as I can be. Just looking for ways to enjoy a healthy food. I made an attempt at confirmed with what I had in the cabinet. Probably doesn't look appealing but I tried one and had to have another. Super soft, and I can imagine it being a lot better with fresh herbs and grapeseed oil. I used 50/50 canola and olive.

What I enjoy, now that you asked how to make it into a snack, is to separate and peel cloves and just put them out to dry. The taste changes and loses it's stinginess, but it's quite delicious and excellent to snack on. Gets this quaint little rubbery quality to it. It also doesn't cause much if any "bad breath".
Goes excellently in trail mix as well.

yeah toum is great, and you can make it as powerful or as weak as you like, it's also good as an ingredient in other cooked foods
you can also make fried garlic chips to add to food, or slowly deep fry whole garlic cloves until crunchy, eat them with peanuts they're delicious

Kinda, mine was separated from the squewer though. Like a little bowl so you can have as much as you want.
Also mine was in a restaurant, not streetside.
