they're fine if food is just an expense rather than a hobby or something you put time and effort into, easily the cheapest store in almost any town they're in

otherwise yeah you can't really do much with their super limited produce and meat sections

Depends where you are on the supply chain. Near big cities in affluent areas, the produce is good and the stores are nice. In poor, rural, or especially diverse areas, the store is walmart-tier.

Agree. Agree. Agree. Fuck that place and their shitty alcohol, shitty meat, shitty veg, and shitty cart and bag system. I feel like I’m living in poverty from the moment I step inside. Fuck that place.

It's walmat tier as far as customer quality goes and has less selection. Also shit when you consider how much how much smaller it is compared to how busy it is. I once had to wait a stupidly long time for some lady to figure what kind of shredded cheese she wanted to buy. She kept picking up and putting bags back.

Gotta agree. Went inside an Aldi once just to see what it was like. It was cool they had frozen blueberries (even though they were the worst frozen blueberries i have ever eaten)
It was nice that I didn't spend too much money, but there wasn't much there worth buying. Nothing I bought ended up tasting good or made me feel that great after eating it. You really get what you pay for there.

They have dirt cheap bags of organic kale and almond milk though, I’ve been drinking kale shakes everyday thanks to Aldis.

This is my main issue, besides some suspect food quality. All the Aldis around me are too damn small for the bigass carts and number of people always going there. They don't need to be WalMart-sized but Goddamn

Do American Aldis also have special buys? Here in Australia Aldi regularly rotates what they offer in the special buys section, so for example tomorrow Aldi will sell bikes and accessories, while in a few days Aldi will also sell Spanish foods. They also have in the past sold gaming PCs, a toilet suite, an espresso machine and a beer keg as a part of their special buys.

Well Aldi in Germany is an entirely different thing.
You get everything there for relatively good prices and the quality and taste is good. If not better compared to some expensive brands.

Some of there stuff is good, the problem is you can't get everything there, so its a two stop trip. I spose its less of a hassel if aldi is in the same centre as your normal supermarket.

>> No.13869852

I use Aldi to buy the basic stuff. Then go to a different store to get the brand stuff.

>he wants to pay billionaires more for food that comes out of the exact same factories
were you born retarded or did you get dropped on your head at some point?

>> No.13870565

It's not worth going there because only a small percentage of their stuff is actually cheaper and the selection is shit, meaning I have to at minimum make an extra stop somewhere else.

Instead of "saving money", it's actually cheaper to pay for a membership to Costco or Sam's and buy in bulk.

In 2016, Aldi Süd in Germany sold a 23 inch 1080p monitor from Medion for 60 Euros. At that time, the exact same model cost 145 Euros on Amazon and Ebay.
I bought like 30 monitors and sold them on Ebay for 120 Euros.
