Lea and Perrins is no doubt a staple for any pantry but so too is Henderson's Relish. Worcester Sauce is an ingredient. It packs a punch and rounds a stew off nicely. Hendo's is a perfect condiment to most Anglo cuisine. There's no danger of spoiling your meal with it. It's far more versatile than Lea and Perrins and has more of a lifting sweetness to it.

I didn't know about this one. Is it as thin as a worcestershire?

I have some Jamaican Pickapeppa and some Costa Rican Lizano sauces all the time in my fridge. These very old recipes borrow heavily from the tamarind, ginger and fermented anchovy, clove, allspice and other flavors in the worchestershire with a heavier hand and subtle differences, but as thick as like A1.

About two nights ago I made a fried rice with corned beef leftover in the fridge from St Patrick's Day. I wasn't paying attention and used Worcestershire sauce when I intended to use soy sauce. I also added some Asian fish sauce on top of it. My house had a distinct odor of toes and balls.

I'm not American, I'm just explaining why Americans can't pronounce things in the Old English manner which many town names and places are called still even against the pronounciation rules of modern Commonwealth English.

Also as an aside, the idea that Americans preserved the 'true pronounciation' of English is highly questionable, especially when you have some isolated communities in the US that have accents that sound almost identical to current day regional accents in Britain (though these communities are not like to last much longer and thus these accent will also likely die out soon in the US.).
