I honestly hate plain old spaghetti. I like angel hair, and I like flat noodles, but for some reason I just hate spaghetti.

Spaghetti are objectively the best kind of pasta, they work great with basically any sauce. Size, quality, and cooking are extremely important for spaghetti, because they're the easiest to overcook. Try buying decent spaghetti, you should be able to get Barilla No.5 Spaghetti even though Barilla is kinda shitty, it's probably the most widespread and good enough. Pair them with something easy but tasty, like ragù, or just plain tomato sauce.
