Gen X here. I remember eating these a lot for like a year after that stupid E.T. movie. They never were that good but the marketing hype was, for the time, over the top.
I never remembering them being that good. Easily surpassed by peanut M&Ms or standard Reece's. Especially the peanut butter Easter eggs.

Why do people say it like that? There are no examples in the history of humanity of the name Reese being pronounced "Reesee." They literally made Reese's Pieces with the intent of conveying the correct pronunciation and people still get it wrong.
