Decided to use the lockdown as an opportunity to kick my ass back into making almost exclusively Japanese meals daily. I did so for a year in the past when there were more people living at home but took a lot of shortcuts. Other than rice, most of the ingredients aren't part of the panic buys.

I have a new book, ordered a brick of bonito with shaver, 2 pounds of kombu, and pounds of red and white miso.
[spoiler]by the way if anyone has any leads for a good price on in-stock koshihikari rice I would appreciate it

why didn't you use the juices to make an aux jus or pan gravy? May corona claim us all to redeem this abomination of a meal.

the yams or sweet potatos look alright, though with all that fat and grease the butter or margarine on top seems...a bit excessive.

>I'm gonna be honest
"I'm going to tell you something that will most likely be poorly received, but I feel compelled to tell you regardless."

It's usually the case choosing to say something "best left unsaid," or phrasing it bluntly/rudely, rather than choosing not to lie.

>I legitimately did something
"I did not half-ass it (despite what others might assume)"

Replace legitimately with really, seriously, honestly, etc.

At work it's even better. Zoomers are starting to get crazy without open restaurants and eateries. The concept of bringing your own food to work seems to be hard to grasp.
