do any of you buy beef directly from farmers? I noticed a lot of local farmers selling beef around me and I can't find beef at the store so I figure why not. one local person is selling 1/10ths now half ground beef half steaks, 30 lbs for $150. how do you pick this stuff? these are belted galloway.

what is a good price to pay for beef like this they're advertising $3.75/lb wet weight and that includes processing

grocery stores are totally out of cow meat I figured this might be an okay place to learn about it. I called a friend and his family raised beef until about 7 years ago and I met him about 6 years ago. he wants to sell his horses and get a couple of cows so we might actually buy a couple of heifers and have some beef in a year or so. I'm still going to buy some beef for now and we will decide if we wanna get some cows. I'll let you guys know if I get a cow or two. I will have to learn some more about this stuff

Not directly from the farmer, but I have a sort of boutique farmers market type store, far from the (((big city))) where they sell local farms beef and raw milk. No shortages and all the beef you want.

The panic buying never hit them.

$23 per pound is basically a deal breaker for me. I can still get fresh local ground beef for $6 a pound.

If I was insanely rich I wouldn't care, but I'm not insanely rich.
