I'm eating cauliflower fried rice* with fava bean curry for dinner right now, tho. Not vegetarian, however. The rice has Maldives fish flakes.

*not fried cauliflower rice IE it's not grated up cauliflower masquerading as rice; it's regular old rice fried with chilli, garlic, grated up cauliflower and curry leaves, topped with Maldives fish flakes, crisp-fried shallots and coriander leaves.
I guess if you could find a substitute for the smoky taste of Maldives fish, you could make it vegetarian.

As a vegetarian, it wouldn't change my lifestyle at all. And I don't miss the taste of meat at all either. I miss the convenience sometimes of being able to stop off for a burger, or the luxury of being able to buy an expensive steak once in a while. But I don't miss the meat itself, I'm completely indifferent to it. I get grossed out by it now that I've stopped allowing viral bourgeois doublethink about animals to control my brain.

I'm not a vegetarian at all, though I don't eat nearly as much meat as the average westerner and far more fruits and vegetables (about 1kg daily) than most people altogether, including vegetarians.
I find cheap, tasty and varied options for vegetarian ready meals to be non-existant. You know, like hot pockets or something. There's literally not a single one. I've tried these round vegetarian hotpocket wannabe things and besides being costly and awful, they had practically no vegetables in them. It was all TVP bullshit or whatever tf it was in there.
Bean burritos are too one dimensional to really work here and also lack vegetables.
Samosas are shit unless fried and ain't no one gonna fry one up as a snack.
I don't wanna just eat salad as a quick fix until the end of time or keep hummus around, always. Wtf do you eat when you're peckish at 9pm, when it's too late to cook a full blown meal? Would you buy, say, a mixed vegetable pot pie or hand pie and keep one of those around for such occasions? One that's otherwise identical to a chicken or beef pot/hand pie, but has more vegetables rather than the meat and uses vegetable gravy rather than one made from meat stock. I would.

I've never felt I lacked options in that department. But I don't eat many frozen meals, if I'm peckish at nine pm I'll grab, like, popcorn, cookies, cheese and crackers, etc.

>>13791364
Consciousness as an emergent property is a concept meat cucks invented to convince themselves it was self-consistent to care about animals at all while still justifying killing and eating them. It's not. Animals, plants, rocks are all conscious to a greater or lesser degree, it's just a question of the density of information encoded in them. It's not OK to eat animals because they're really fucking close to people. They have emotions, strong desires, central nervous systems, personalities. If you treat any animal at all like it has any of the characteristics associated with conscious experience, then you've opened the gateway to inconsistency unless you begin correlating these characteristics with the complexity of an animal's brain or what have you.
If you truly treat animals as though they're not conscious-- if you wouldn't blink an eye at a child beating a racoon to death against a telephone poll, for instance-- then you're self consistent, even if I disagree. But if you have compassion for any animal at any time, if you give your dog a treat because you want it to feel good, then you are fundamentally irrational in assuming there's a difference between one animal and another just because you want to eat one.

>> No.13791378

Please tell me more about the animals I work with every single day of the year. By your logic you can't eat a rock or a plant either, so consider suicide? Beating something against a pole is not what I would consider a humane death, and there is much to consider in a humane life also.

Enjoy your privilege anon

>> No.13791386

>>13791378
Yeah, you're just too retarded to grasp it. Plants are less conscious than animals, so it's not as bad to eat them. It's not about doing nothing wrong, it's about doing the least wrong relative to how much good you do. If we were purely carnivores, cat people or whatever, at this stage in our society eating meat would be fine, because we couldn't live without it. But people don't need meat anymore, being a vegetarian or vegan is easy.

If you think that whether an animal's death is "humane" matters, then you value their experience as though they are conscious, because you don't want them to be "hurt" in some capacity, and only a conscious being can feel pain. You are implicitly recognizing that animals are conscious, and then pretending consciousness isn't what it is, and instead give it no actual tangible qualities so that you can use it to justify whatever behavior you want. If consciousness means anything, then either animals are conscious like people and shouldn't be hurt, or are unconscious like you view tables and chairs to be and don't matter at all. In a binary system such as the one you purport to operate under, these are the only two options.

There's a cyclone coming over so should be a good time. About 12 dollars each and 250 or so for the vet call out.

Just because everyone else taints their soul, doesn't mean that you should too. Progress is often slow, people tend to be dense and stuck in their ways. The fact is that a vegan diet is perfectly sufficient for you to thrive on, there is no reason why anyone has to eat meat.

Stay vegan, promise you won't quit when you start getting sick like 80% + of vegans do?
