bought an enamel coated cast iron pan
the (light colored) outside enamel coating is shiny and smooth (easy to clean)
the inside enamel coating (black) is extremely rough, textured (not easy to clean)
am I doing something wrong? how are you supported to use and maintain an enameled cast iron pan? I'm assuming you don't need to and can't "season" it
anyone else have experience with them?

>$220 plus shipping for a cast iron bowl
it always surprises me how loose people are with their money. it is also shocking that even the $50 ones at the store are produced in china, weighing 20-30lbs and it still being cheaper than producing them in the united states shipping tons and tons of them via cargo boats. the world is shit

You should only buy le creuset enamelled and lodge non-enamelled cast iron. Le creuset cleans easily with a bit of gumption

Blame China. Recent events have proven their belligerence and danger to the world.

Your Amazon basics one is leaching arsenic into your food because it's shitty Chinese metal

>> No.13786384

>>13786340
The amount of arsenic leached from normal cooking in cast iron is so low it's effectively irrelevant. You got any data to support that Lodge cast iron is especially poisonous?

>> No.13786406

>>13786384
This is of course assuming that there is any at all since arsenic has a boiling point that's 400 degrees colder than the temperature in the blast furnaces used to make cast-iron cookware.

did you seriously pay $220 for a fucking kitchenaid cast iron? JFC just buy a le creuset second choice. I got the 3.3L model for $185, literally less than yours for a top of the line

Why the everloving fuck would you buy an enameled pot with no enameling on the actual fucking cooking surfaces? Just buy a cast iron dutch oven for $30.

did you really do this when I bought a lodge from target for 40 dollars?

They're unbelievably good for casseroles and roasting. Seriously, just put stuff in and they cook it perfectly. Only thing I'll say is be careful of dropping it. I've had them crack and break before (even Le Creuset).

Also, post what you mean about the interior. They aren't 'seasonable' items. They're really intended to slow cook things evenly.
