Is baking becoming cucked? I've been baking for about 8 years now but I have noticed that there is a popular trend of making sourdoughs and keeping starters. I love this hobby but I am finding it troubling that I may get lumped in with a bunch of social media normiecucks. I used to think making your own bread from scratch was actually a pretty based way of remaining self-sufficient, but now I'm worried I'm going to have to give it up.

I keep a starter for flavor but rely on ady for the actual rise. it takes waay too long to proof dough withmy own starter. I ain't got time for that. and it barely affects the flavor. if you want sourness, add some acid.
also, the best way to add flavor is to coat the outside with nuts and seeds like black walnut, fennel, caraway, sesame, etc.

There's nothing wrong with baking your own bread. But people have literally done it for hundreds of years, so idk why you think it's some badge of honor. Literally one of the easiest things to make.
