That's why I never buy my alcohol at the same place two times in a row. I do a rotation between the supermarkets in my area.

Stop telling people your name then. And you probably swipe your own card so they don't see your name.

How many supermarkets do you have? I've tried that, but over the course of 7 years they start to learn.

>having shit day at work
>on the way home stop at local convenience store to get ice cream for comfort
>go to this store all the time so the asians working there know me
>lady is super nice and tries to give me a free cookie with my purchase
>card gets declined
>lady behind counter says "oh no"
>try card again
>still declined
>know I have enough money in the bank so I go out and call my bank
>my bank says nothing is wrong and that I should try to make a purchase somewhere else
>go elsewhere to make purchase
>have no issues

I went back today and my card got declined even though I can buy stuff elsewhere with no issues.
I explain this to the lady and she runs my card as credit instead of debit and it works.

Sometimes it's worth while to know the person behind the counter? Really annoying that their card reader hates me though. She'll never give me a free cookie ever again cause of that shit.

Yeah? And at most stores you swipe it yourself, the wagie never touches it.

The only time I have cash on me is when I'm going to the dispensary.
I usually have cash left over and I'll use that as tip money for when I go out to eat.

I haven't been going to the dispensary lately however.

yeah but they can still see your name on there, stupid. Especially since most places take chip now. The part with your name on it sticks out and they have more of a chance to see your name.

I worked at a grocery store's liquor section while going to college and I made a case not to remember anyone's names. I recognized almost every repeat customer. I only really engaged with the customers if they did first.

I did know the names of everyone who would be waiting for me to open the liquor section of the store in the mornings. Everyone knew them.

During my alcoholic days, I would rotate between 3 different liquor stores all within range of my home just to avoid going to the same place two days in a row. Even still, it was always the same one or two people who worked at every place, so it catches up to you quick.
