so I've been drinking nothing but maxwell house instant coffee for 5 years and just kinda assumed that that was what coffee was.
but i ran out yesterday and decided to buy actual maxwell house coffee grounds and some coffee filters instead.
i don't have a coffee machine i just used a filter roughly 4 teaspoons of coffee and some honey.
tasted 10 times better then instant and was even better then most of the mcdonald's and all of the tim hortons coffee i've had.
it made me actually energized which instant does not and makes instant coffee taste like poison in comparison.

TL;DR if your still drinking instant coffee stop it

I always thought instant coffee sounded like shit and didnt try it. then my dad and his wife came back from new zealand and were raving about how great their instant coffee is, pic related. its actually pretty good. then with my newfound approval of instant coffee, i buy a jar of some random stuff at the grocery store, and its absolute garbage. i try once more with another brand, absolute garbage. so im gonna stick with regular coffee, but ill drink and enjoy this stuff when i go to my dads house

instant coffee is made of Robusta beans. That shit tastes like ink and is routinely creamed with sweetened condensed milk in places like Vietnam where they guzzle the shit down

whole bean/pre-ground coffee you find in the grocery store is arabica bean. Different bean different taste. Maxwell is dogshit though, try a starbucks blond roast then use that as a metric while you try different brands. Starbucks is only 'okay' by the way, you work your way up and learn what you personally like

I use a half teaspoon of real vanilla, a half tablespoon of brown cane sugar, and like three tablespoons milk or some half and half. Pretty good.
