Massive multi-billion dollar international companies can afford to sell products at a promotional price, even at a loss, all for the sake of getting people talking about their product. Congratulations, you fell for it.
I miss the one cent Big Mac promotions, though. Haven't seen one since before 2010.

You are dumb, anon. Stop guaranteeing things when you're this dumb.

Even the cheapest burgers cost McDonald's more than a dollar to make.
They sell their hamburgers at a loss because very few people take advantage of that. Many go for the more expensive ones which are profitable and the vast majority also buys coke and fries which have gigantic margins.

That's purely food cost, which is a small percentage of your daily operating costs. Labor is pretty much the #1 manageable cost, and depending on the location, the property itself can be extremely expensive (although this is typically not included in your daily OpEx).

You are a retard who can't manage money if you don't think about all of that.
Also, Big Mac costs more than a dollar just for the ingredients. The default "sell at a loss" burgers do not but their price easily goes above a dollar after you count in bills, salaries, and the waste.

>> No.13744939

>>13744875
I actually do roughly factor these in, although to do so accurately would incur its own cost via too much time taken to calculate. Also, what you're saying is completely irrelevant to the discussion. If they exclusively sold $1 big macs - and nothing else ever - they would absolutely operate at a loss, because their aggregated expenses per big mac (or "OpEx/BMc") would be too high.

>> No.13744987

>>13743988
It's a loss leader model of sales. If you get a Big Mac cheap then you're likely to get something to drink (which costs 0.05 for the cup, sugar water, and electricity to make the ice) which is sold at a 2k percent markup.
