Pickles are the one jarred food where you get what you pay for. Store brand/Vlasic are half the price but are consistently mushy and flavorless. Clausen is best but I feel like a sap for spending so much on a zero calorie snack/sandwich topper. Elites are dank too

How does one make pickles like Claussen? I've tried but it's never the same.

Low caloric content is what makes them great for absentminded snacking, but it really makes me wonder why people bothered pickling in the first place. Are other vegetables higher in caloric content when pickled? Or did pickling develop as a way of just being able to eat veggies out of season?

I’m an American, it’s not possible

I’m thinking the latter. Plus classic fermentation pickling provides good bacteria

Yeah it might have helped as a digestive aid. I really want to pickle stuff someday, even though it can be a bitch.

If it ain't Vlassic, you can pass it.

Nothing else is worth eating and Claussen is one of the worst. Yuck.

Any mass market pickle that isn't in the refrigerated aisle is garbage.

More vinegar than garlic. Quite good, but I prefer Claussen.
