>ask the china guy taking my order of General Tso chicken to make it "extra spicy"
>he makes my food nuclear hot
>can't even smell the food without gagging due to the overwhelming chili smell

Why don't these people know subtlety. If I wanted "extra extra extra spicy" I would have asked for it.

Is this battered? Can it be done with fish? Best Chinese takeout I’ve ever had was from the takeout on the Fulham road about 20 years ago and they called it “the general’s fish” so I’ve always wondered this as I’ve never come across it again.

Yes.
>Can it be done with fish?
I don't see why not.
>the general’s fish
Yup, it's the same sweetish vaguely spicy sauce.

you asked for spicy food and you got it. You should've asked how varying the spice levels of this dish were there first if it's such an issue for you, and probably should've gotten a milder order if you didn't actually want the spice.

I want general tso chicken to be as spicy as possible and no place ever makes it very spicy. they started giving me a cup of the red pepper oil they use in the dish so I can make it spicier but red pepper is not spicy at all. what's the best spice to add to general tso chicken

>> No.13732531

>>13730843
general tso chicken is a spicy dish already, if you can't handle spicy just order it regular or go with sesame chicken if you're such a bitch

You never ask a restaurant to make your food spicier unless it's one of those meme places that has a chart with stupid names for each level. You ask for a bottle of spicy sauce to go alongside your order, which for chinese places is usually either sriracha or a mixture of soy sauce, chili flakes, and tobasco, unless that shit is already out on the table.

I wish I was you OP, haven't had a truly spicy General Tso in a long time.
