Ham Kielbasa mixed with Smoked Chicken on a home made tortilla with simple iceberg lettuce coarse cut, medium dice tomato with stripped seeds and liquid, pick a cheese, 4 blend pepper, mustard, and mayo. You can dress that up with olives, jalapeno, pickled slice in quarter fine and even "sub sauce" which is just italian dressing.

It'll keep you shitting regularly.

People like you that try to make a “better” Rueben are evil. It’s a good, cheap meat that can be piled up and form the base for a fantastic sandwich. If you prefer a ham and Swiss sandwich just say so, instead of suggesting someone make a “better” Rueben with ham and mustard. If you’re upset that your beloved sandwich doesn’t have a name, maybe you just have to come to terms with the fact that your shitty sandwich doesn’t deserve a name.

Why not make it yourself? It's a matter of creating a spiced brine, submerging a brisket in it for a few days in the refrigerator and boiling it.

Having said that, I suppose ham would be the best substitute.

Heaven forbid. I once ordered a reuben at the counter, and immediately changed my mind and said, "ah wait, hold the sauerkraut", at which point the sandwichologist literally got angry and said "IT WOULDN'T BE A REUBEN THEN".
