If the food wasn't good, it gets a 1 star. Alright doesn't cut it. I can make alright at home with prefab shit for less money and it won't take me any longer than driving to a shitty restaurant.

Should only ever use 1 or 5, no or yes for that kind of thing, in my humble opinion.

1 star if the server didn't piss in your face and the chef didn't slap his balls across your lips is very harsh. The review should have been a 3 at best since nothing truly egregious seems to have occurred. I personally tend to stay in the 4-5 set on my google reviews for most places unless something insanely bad happens or bad things happen on a regular basis when I visit.

Your 4 and 3 are fucking dumb. In 3 you're so ready to say it was good, but a 4 is "p good, I guess..."

I can't believe someone gave 9/11 a 4 star Yelp review. Some people are shameless.

I have insider knowledge re: fake reviews. A huge percentage of Google reviews these days are fake, but here's what you probably wouldn't guess about this: most fake positive reviews were NOT paid for by the business the positive review is for.

The best fake reviews belong to accounts with at least 10 other reviews. Thus, when someone pays someone to post a fake positive review for their business, the person who posts the fake review has to post like 10 other fake reviews for random businesses in the same city.

This used to apply to Yelp as well until they introduced AI software that seems to want to maintain a certain positive/negative review ratio for each business. It's basically impossible to manipulate your positive/negative review ratio on Yelp these days because of their AI. You'd think Google, with all its AI research, would be the service with the fake review-killing AI, not Yelp, but it is what it is.
