I don't know why this channel is so popular. All these people seem like preening, self-regarding, camera-loving insufferable New York hipsters. Why don't they look directly into the camera at all times, like a professional would do? Why do they keep making asides and looking to people off-camera as if to tell the viewers: "we're really pleased with ourselves and really comfortable in our Conde Nast One World Trade Centre jobs, it's like a happy family, and I think our viewers would rather see our charming and hilarious witty camaraderie than actual helpful cooking tips!"

Personally I find it utterly fucking insufferable and obnoxious.

but somehow you still enjoy watching it, because you like to imagine yourself as a much more competent and attractive person than they are while they actually do the work and perform for you. informal presentation styles tend to work well on youtube not only because they attract positive attention but also because bitter idiots like you feel compelled to scrutinise them.

God, I wish I could be in a workplace like that every day. It's full of passionate, easy-going young people who probably have a lot of time outside of work. Everyone at my work place just snitches and watches the clock go around.
