my mother also doesnt use any garlic for these and theyre still fine

either way Id recommend sneaking in a tiny bit of garlic into every dish and slowly increasing the amount until your family learns what taste is

Yeah, I dont cook for my family much, but whenever I do and it included garlic its always a battle. My mom used to never even own Garlic or Onion powder once in her entire life before I got it. If she makes Bolognese she will literally fish out the whole cloves before serving.
I love garlic, but in Germany you always feel like a pariah when you smell garlicky, and it shouldnt bother me probably but I also dont like smelling it on myself.

I only recently started getting into turkish cooking, out of love for a (german) turkish girl, she is too perfect and she gave me life desu.
