for the past three days i've been eating plain cheddar cheese on hot dog buns microwaved for 20 seconds. i don't even slice the cheese, i just break chunks off with my fingers.

It's not hard to make good chili dogs.

>get good buns
>get good dogs
>get chile con carne
>get white onion
>get ketchup
>buy block cheddar and grate it so no corn starch

Shop around for better tasting buns and dogs, and settle on a good canned chili.

Add about 2 tbsp of ketchup to the chili as you heat it up on the stove.
Finely chop the onion and then ladle on a small amount of chili inside the bun.
Place the cooked hot dogs on top, and then ladle on more chili.
Add a little more ketchup to the top.
Top with finely chopped onion, and freshly grated cheddar.
