You know what the worst thing about White Castle is? The fucking black people. For those that aren't informed, in the mid 2010's White Castle faced a lot of media controversy for not hiring enough black people. They made a stronger commitment to hiring people with higher melanin concentrations and has suffered a quality hit as a result. There is no fucking reason I should walk into a White Castle and wait over 10 minutes for 4 little teenie tiny burgers and a side of onion chips. Whether I am in the drive thru or go inside it makes no difference: the disinterested black fast food worker takes my order with a roll of the eyes and a suck of their teeth. They painstakingly, slowly, carefully pluck my order into the system on the keys and makes my change like they are laying out delicate gold leaf. I hear hooting, clambering, hollering, just a calamity of noises from the back and after waiting so long my temper has boiled, calmed, boiled again, and calmed to a resigned defeat my food is shoved at me without so much as a "have a good day" goodbye or even a fucking apology for all I went through for that miniscule amount of food
