Cause keto means you dont have to feel hungry. Also I feel better mood wise on keto, I'm also very sedentary so hard to burn carbs in my life at the moment. I had my health checked recently and across all metrics my issues disappeared from high blood pressure to lipid levels in blood. My dermatitis is also much better. The anti keto people on here are 19 year olds who can eat shit and carbs all day and still burn it off due to their young metabolism and furious masterbation. Get back to me in your 30s and tell me you can still live that way.

I was born in '86 and I think this keto fad is retarded. I've also been underweight my entire adult life through to the present. My secret is the amount of calories I eat isn't as much as the amount of calories you eat. I honestly don't get how people eat to the point of becoming overweight because even just 2000 calories in a day is a lot of food (e.g. a bowl of cheerios, four slices of bacon, and a quart of milk for breakfast plus a big mac and a can of Coke for lunch plus easy mac and a can of Coke for dinner would work out to under 2000 calories despite containing a bunch of stereotypically fattening foods and drinks).

Kind of what makes it a waste of time. Obviously the body of research favours the status quo, as research tends to do. Obviously there is risk of vitamin deficiencies if you're not careful. There are suggestions of mental and physical benefits, but there is at present no real inventive for a credible body to rigorously prove them. In the end, it's a case of whether or not you're curious enough to try it. If you're not, don't fret so much about people who are.

Big Mac Casserole:

1 lb ground beef
2 tsp chicken bouillon
1 1/3 tsp onion powder
2 tsp parsley
2/3 tsp garlic powder
1 1/3 c cheddar, shredded
1/3 c low carb thousand island dressing
2 eggs, beaten
1/8 c sour cream
Sesame seeds, for garnish

Brown the ground beef in a skillet and add the spices. Transfer to a bowl and mix with 2/3 cup of the cheese, the thousand island dressing, sour cream, and eggs. Add the mixture to a greased 9x9 baked dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly on top and bake at 375°F for 30 mins. Garnish with sesame seeds.

For the entire thing: 2000 calories, 24g net carbs, 150g fat, 134g protein. Great for OMAD, and it’s fucking delicious.

Anti-keto fags BTFO. I lost 70 lbs eating this dish at least once a week. I’m in better health than ever. Good luck, OP.

6'1 actually (140lb). I'm just one of the ultra-rare Americans left who not only isn't overweight but falls slightly on the opposite side of underweight BMIs. It wouldn't be weird at all if it were 50 years ago, but now we're living in some fucked up pathological indulgence-centric nightmare dystopia where being just barely what counts as a little below weight is freakish but being morbidly obese is normal.

Wrong. Fat's fairly non-satiating and the foods producing the most satiety are carbs like potatoes.

A landwhale craves harder after a meal than a skelly fasted. Fattening up is inherently a mechanism of storing abundance of food and only caps off in nature when you run out of the food source.

Fact is you're either some outlier or had unusual upbringing. You're not virtuous or anything else like that, for that you'd at least have to peak above normal weight and then will yourself back down. 50 years ago you'd probably look like an anorectic gimp.

Doesn't matter if you're feeling viscerally full or w/e that measures. Primary long term hormonal reaction of satiety is triggered by lipids and craving is triggered by insulin. Its pretty obvious.

the satiety index is the conclusion of over 300 clinical trials in which people were tested for satiety
>its just protein and carbs that were tested!!!
well lets look at the results
the most satiating food is boiled potatoes
the second most satiating food is a protein with zero fat
the third most satiating food is a carb breakfast with zero fat
the fourth is a low calorie, mid fiber, low sugar citrus fruit
the fifth is a high volume, low calorie fruit
the sixth is a carb with zero fat
all of these are considered to be more satiating than the first item, the seventh on the list, with any amount of fat in it
the least satiating foods on the index are all low in non-sugar carbs and high in fat

Doesn't matter, high fat was not tested. Even less so a keto meal, since insulin spike is present. Its telling you can't even locate the only two potentially ketogenic food items on the list. And I see no mention of the subjects being fasted, won't even bother though, study's shit.

Also satiety is a word w/o set parameters. It wholly depends on the definition in the study. I glanced through it and it only checks if you wanted to eat more up to 2 hours after. Well guess what, a day is more than 2 hours. The methodology was chosen for convenience of testing and is quite shit, the sample sizes are minuscule.

>pretty simple conclusion from this information

You can't conclude anything though, you obviously don't know the subject.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Honestly, you really don't need "recipes" if you're doing low carb. People spend too much time making frankenfoods because they can't let go of junk food and desserts.

Fresh meat and offal, fish, lots of vegetables, nuts, seeds and some dairy (full-fat yogurt, butter, hard cheeses) is all you really need. Place emphasis on whole foods. Buy something different every time you go shopping and prepare things simply. It's really easy.

Granted, I don't do full-on "keto" anymore. I keep my carb counts just high enough to avoid going into ketosis. These days I don't go crazy on fats. It worked really well for the first 12 months/100 pounds, though.

without consuming enough carbohydrates to sustain your body's energy needs it will resort to a function in the liver called gluconeogenesis where it converts proteins and glycerol (a significant portion of triglycerides which makes up your body fat cells) into an energy source.
Protein intake will protect your muscle mass, fat will make you feel full.
