Post cheese boards you've made for events/parties/ya own snackin'.

This is one I made for a friend's wedding party a while back.

Have nothing against cheese boards, and this one you've presented is particularly nice in its relatively uncomplicated focus/variety, but god damn do they reek of reddit.

I must guess it's the fact that cheese and charcuterie and the like are, for the common person, just matter of purchasing items and slapping them on an attractive board in pleasing arrangements, and that takes very little talent. The kinds of redditors who post cheese boards are probably fucking hack cooks.

Now I would've rather you just called me a hack cook, but a redditor? Low blow man. Anyway it was for a lady's wedding party, of course it's gonna have more of a focus on presentation. If it was for my own snacking, it'd probably be different.

But again, I think yours is nice! 2 fruits, 2 veggies, all of varying flavors and textures, cured meat, nuts, simple cracker selection, but good depth on cheeses. It's ideal, really.

What's the maroon wedge next to the BlackBerry? Jelly?

Yeah! It was a persimmon jelly

I wouldn't scoff at it. Just add some fruits, dried fruits and nuts and you're set.

i actually really like camembert + dried mango strips but all i had at the time was dried apricots and i didn't feel like eating those (this was all for my lonesome ;))
i did try some jelly with manchego once and it was wonderful. very excited to try it again in the future but i have to go out of my way to get to the spanish shop.

Me and my gf have been eating manchego and Brie with avocado, crackers, and sausage.
