Why are the non-french so offended by this?

vol au vents?

>> No.13564366

They just aren't very good. Anything that needs to be covered in its own weight in garlic, butter, and strong herbs isn't actually good at all(see crustaceans, bivalves) It's just something the French have meme'd everyone into spending a bunch of money on. No one is really offended, it's just a waste of time and money.

I've had snails plenty of times but I'm not familiar with them being in those pastry things. I just have them with garlic and butter or use them to make fake clam chowder.

I hate snails, they crawl over my driveway in spring and their shells are so frail they start to crack when you try to pick them up, and its one of the most unpleasant sensations.

I don't mind mowing them over either but their squished corpses are so hard to get rid of, especially when they dry up.

Dead snails just stay there in your yard? Don't you have birds and ants in your part of the world?
