Hey fatties, I've been here a bit over a year now, but recently a chef at a local Michelin starred restaurant has been flirting with me when I stop in for lunch, even sending me free food and having the wait staff tell me it's from the chef. The problem is, judging from this board alone chefs seem to be super stressed alcoholics who can barely function outside of cooking. A woman who can cook is really appealing, but one with a series of nerouses is not. What are yalls thoughts on this? Pros/cons?

my thought is you should shut the fuck up and eat your mcchicken

Ehh it's only a one star and is like 30 dollars at lunch time if I don't get a drink. Is that really too obnoxious to go to once a week or so if I rarely ever eat out?

What hours do you normally work?

If you date a chef and work a normal 9-5, forget about ever seeing or spending any time with her, especially if your days off in the week are saturday and sunday. Other than that I don't think there are really any unique hurdles to dating a chef, just the usual hurdles of your social retardation.

I had typed out a really cynical response about how terrible women are, but then I remembered how nice every girl I've ever met working in a kitchen has been. They really might be the exception. Girls who work in commercial kitchens aren't afraid of hard work so that's a big plus too. Be wary though, anyone who works in a restaurant usually has some issue or another, and she may just see you as an idiot with too much money who is an easy mark. I think you can give her a chance. Personally I would never date a chef though. Too neurotic, I've got enough of that without anyone else's help.

Worst case
>Super stressed alchy goes out of her way to make you a loving meal every day even amidst a lunch rush
If you aren’t smart enough to snatch her up her up immediately, get out of the way for people who’d appreciate someone that caring

Are you sure she's flirting with you? Random gifts to customers aren't that uncommon at expensive restaurants. It's also common for girls to use flirting for customer relations, or for men to confuse friendliness with flirting. Having a chef wife sounds like fun though.

Pound that snatch, be sure to eat her out, and never forget her favorite flower

Especially if shes flirting with you, shes perfect for you passive social retardation. Ask her out immediately and keep a stocked liquor cabimet

Another cook here - this anon right. Something something something chefs life is bad, etc. It's really not bad, and women in it are super strong and you might save her for dating some spic off the truck or felon in her workplace. Just do it. They don't have a lot of opportunity to meet people - fri/sat/sun they're serving them.

Well I'm a professional gamer (poker) so I can kind of make my own schedule. These specific restaurants are closed Sunday and Monday. The hours do seem extremely long, though.

Learn basic gto concepts. Then learn that no one bluffs big until mid/high stakes. Tournaments are weak but just start with cash as it's much lower varience and a better lifestyle. Upswing poker and Raise your edge are the best training sites and the courses easily pay for themselves

pfft, these guys are either going to school to be a chef or they work some kitchen where the waitresses all still go to parties where there are high schoolers present.
a michelin star chef qt3.14 flirting with you is awesome. sex, good food, an ability to drink, and you suddenly forget that your introduction to her life wouldn't change the apparent causes for your imaginary problems every chef has?

what in the hell do you think is the reason 'chefs seems to be super stressed alcoholics'? isn't it usually the lack of sex and a serious relationship? you need to cut it out with that oneitis bullshit.

Depends on their position. I'm head chef so I go and go as I please, and trust my boys to finish dinner services without me. I do work long hours and work from home but it's not so bad.

All that really matters is if you find each other attractive and enjoy spending time with each other, right? Everyone has issues, chefs just have a high stress job. Not everyone deals with it in an unhealthy way.

My girlfriend and I are both chefs. She doesn't drink and I stopped drinking in excess and doing drugs when we got more serious because I wanted to save money. Dating a chef is fun for me because I love food and we both love to cook, or go to restaurants and shit talk they're food.

Its stuff like this why I always assume nobody is actually attracted to me. The people around me assure me that that girl wants to suck my dick but I kind of doubt it.
