Is pork a low tier meat?
Don't get me wrong, there are many pork things that I like such as a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, al pastor tacos, char siu, etc.
But it really seems like pork needs more preparation than beef, chicken, lamb, duck, fish, etc., to make it taste good.
Juice from a pork chop doesn't even taste particularly good like it would from a steak.
Chinese drown their pork in sodium/sugar to make it taste good , Mexicans with peppers/seasonings, Italians with sodium/preservatives, Americans with 10+ hours of smoke, etc.
I don't know why Mexico and China are so pork obsessed

bacon, pancetta etc taste great with little to no preparation
pork ribs seasoned with black pepper, salt and lime, grilled over charcoal tastes amazing.

Idk. I don't really think chicken, beef, or pork are low tier. There is a reason they are really common. Squirrel or rat are probably the low tier meats. My grandpa ate pigeon. That is probably a low tier meat. Pork is fine and you don't need that much preparation.

I think part of the problem is that pigs these days are bred to produce leaner meat, but lean pork sucks. It's a like a poor compromise of beef and chicken.

Sausages are processed as fuck my dude, you trying to imply a heavy mince mixed with heavy spices jammed into a casing isn't processed? To give pork some credit, a lot of eastern soups and dishes that call for pork can't be substitued for something else without ruining it, it's a much milder meat than beef

>> No.13559203

Poor, overcrowded countries will inevitable love pork because it is a fast growing, fast breeding animal that can be used whole. Countries with vast open spaces tend to prefer beef, like the US, Argentina, Brazil, etc... Do not get me wrong, it is a fantastic meat, and it is usually demonized because people still think that you can die in the first world for eating uncooked pork.

>> No.13559207

I do not consider mincing meat and tossing in some spice to be "heavily processed", no. The meat would have to be absolutely liquefied and then partially fermented or something to justify that kind of adjective.

Beef > chicken > pork.
They're all good but if you ask me to choose between a meal that's mainly one of those 3, that's my order of preference.

Beef just has a nice taste and texture in itself, you literally just need salt, pepper and butter and you can achieve one of the nicest taste.

Chicken is easy to cook and fuzes with whatever flavors or cooking methods you use on it, it's versatile and cheap.

Pork is truely exceptional when cured (bacon, pancietta, ham, etc), that's where it shines the most.

Pigs are tasty and can live off of garbage, they are the ultimate poorfag food. Also they look like humans from behind so you can fuck them when Esposita doesnt feel like putting out. They are also very similar to us on a cellular level, which means it's probably pretty close to human meat. When people die in burning buildings, it smells like bacon cooking. The Chinese call human flesh "long pig".
Also sometimes comes with a surprise creamy filling.

Comes from history, unlike us Americans they never traded up from pigs to cattle or chickens since for them those animals are still better kept for producing milk and eggs than butchering then when they're young and succulent. Brits would've stuck pork centric too but they got fish on all sides of the island and as much as they hate to admit it they're crazy for US Prime Angus beef.
