Does it happen that, on your way out, they ask to check the contents of your bag to fit the receipt?

I'm just buying my fkin groceries, i dont wanna be treated as a thief... and no i dont look as homeless trash, this happens everywhere i go, and i travel a lot.

Is this normal in your country? do you think it is acceptable?

Only at Walmart, I don't see door guards at any other store or grocer in my area. Poor people taking advantage of Walmart's high traffic to slip shit out one too many times now everyone's gotta be treated like a shoplifter.

Every store has loss prevention, ive never seen a uniformed guard though. Where do you live? if they're checking receipts with full uniformed security then they must have a serious shoplifting issue they cant stop by doing the usual tricks loss prevention is known to employ.

It has never happened when I bought something. They've only wanted to check my bag once. I was looking for one particular thing and the store didn't have it. I'd walked rather quickly to the area where the thing would have been had they had it, and walked past the check-out lane when I left. Apparently that was suspicious. When they realized I had not been trying to steal anything they apologized, explained the reasoning, and I was free to leave.

It's normal, needed and perfectly acceptable in my home country, especially since they usually decline to check my receipts. There are lots of theives. We also have armed security outside the drug stores.

We never had anything like supermarket security here in germany, only plain-cloth detectives in department stores and the like.
Now that we had the "refugee crisis", I see them even in the smaller supermarkets, it's pretty sad desu. I've never been bothered by them though, I'm white.
