if you're trying to avoid the results of certain... recent developments in europe, it's fine. it's just that it's not a very touristy country and there isn't much to see, especially compared to france. if you're satisfied with exploring quaint mountain towns and going on hikes in nature, you'll get your money's worth. towns i'd recommend are veliko tarnovo, tryavna, troyan, etara, plovdiv.

most people come here for the sea resorts but those are full of anglo and russian degenerates and overcrowded. if you want to go to the beach, go to smaller towns like nessebar or sozopol

other people think it's a good idea to come here for the skiing - it's not, again it's too overcrowded and poorly organized (lifts and such) and the actual mountains and slopes aren't so special. you're better off going to slovenia for skiing.

Pretty much what I like, and the Bulgarian cities are cleaner than most cities in France, and Italy. One of the reasons that I tried convincing my family to live there, but purchasing real estate was too awkward of a process, and no one was really on board with me.
