Like i know its shit, i always feel bad half an hour after eating and then im straight hungry again, but why? In theory it should be healthy food
I mean the not-fried burgers and stuff obviously

>> No.13539069

I think it has something to do with the oil they use or the buns. Clearly the other ingredients are pretty normal, I dont see how they can mess up a burger patty or fries made from potatoes so it has to be the oil.

A small amount of meat, bread and veggies are a somewhat decent meal if you make it from scratch. The oils, fries, preservatives and sauce that McD uses are what make it so caloric.and unhealhty

All I can tell you is that the buns no longer have preservatives in them, when they take delivery from the bakery they have to go right in the freezer to avoid going stale. It's a pain in the fucking ass, especially for the older stores with a tiny-ass walk-in freezer.

>McDonalds meat has to be cooked in a clamshell, try to cook it on an open surface and it melts into an unflippable puddle

Not true. The corporate picnics use reg and quarter meat taken from one of store's freezers. Quarter meat comes in fresh patties now, but back in the day it was a hockey puck like everything else. Taste better cooked on an open surface too. Clamshells are shit.

I've never seen any information that potatoes and fat at high heat are anything but carcinogenic (doesn't stop me from eating them). A chunk of iceberg provides no nutrition, and a tomato that was picked when it was green so it wouldn't spoil before it got to mickey Ds isn't exactly sustaining. The cheese has palm oil in it and is barely cheese. The sauce is probably just some sort of soy oil fat. In a perfect world the meat and grains are fine, but in our reality you're eating enriched white bread with 20+ ingredients, and meat from 1,000+ cows slurried together in a machine and flavored with soy broth, probably.

Sorry, I should have stated a timeframe on my knowledge.
>>As of the early 90’s...<<
“Grill seasoning” contained MSG
Quarter and Ten patties were frozen blocks of slurry that melted into a pink greyish puddle if allowed to thaw. Attempting to cook one on the non clamshell side of the grill, where we did eggs and hot cakes, would result in a less that was unflippable, the thickness of a lumpy meat crepe, and general hd to be scraped into the grease trap.

You have very pessimistic expectations of fast food quality, a lot of burger joints have drastically increased ingredient quality over the last decade due to consumer fear. Oh, I can't speak to the early 90s at all, so I'll take your word for it. On the bright side, that's not a problem these days. The patties stay patties. I dunno if the grill seasoning still has MSG, I never thought to check ingredients, but I know there's regular old salt and pepper in it. I THINK corporate phased out MSG but I don't KNOW that, you know?

>you need to physically fill your stomach
your stomach being full can make you want to stop eating but not necessarily be completely satisfied either. it seems like your brain also gets signals for getting enough protein/fat/carbs in a good balance rather than just from if your stomach is full or not.
