No, being hyperbolic but hook up culture is a serious cancer within gay culture and it is mainly pushed by over eager vers and "bi" guys. One of the things that Lesbians actually have a significant advantage over gays in is monogamy.
I am not sure if it is just that woman are genetically predisposed to monogamy vs the male drive to spread seed but that gives them a stability that general gay culture does not have.
