I’ve been really depressed and foggy for the past few weeks, and I’ve also eaten nothing besides fast food like McDonalds and Chinese or convenience store ice cream and soda. I’m wondering if these things are connected. Can your diet affect your mental state?

>> No.13518413

Yes. Try cooking for yourself. It's good for you as well.

OP, you already know you're eating high sodium, carb and fat heavy utter crap. Get back to a bit more natural. Eat a salad. Whole fruit. Drink water. Get a little more simple or less refined and pay attention to your portions, food groups.
Sleep well and exercise. Take care of yourself, k? If you're really badly depressed, go see a doc. Sometimes it's just all a viscious cycle. You don't feel good enough to anything but simple foods. If money is no object, you to a quality grocery deli and get some ready to eat salad bar, quiche slices, rotisserie chicken, precut fruit salad. It's convenience food too. It costs a bit more to buy $8 bowl of watermelon, but it's good for you, cold and simply stick your fork in it easy when you feel bad. Don't drive through stupid fast food. Call a good restaurant, and pick up takeout dinner with main, 3 sides, and a decent salad or dessert. Enjoy it for two meals.

Gee that's a tough one

You obviously already know the answer otherwise you wouldn't have known to ask this question. Get your shit together and buy a bag of spinach, faggot

>> No.13518479

Absolutely. Pick up a crock pot and look up some easy recipes. It's rough to cook when you're depressed, so try to stick to recipes with minimal effort/ingredients required.

What is this the 90's?
It only gives people headaches in large doses and even that is a small percentage of the population.

yknow I find I don't get along with a lot of innernet-JP-fans, but, I did see him say "eat breakfast pretty much immediately upon waking", and other stuff basically removing-low-blood-sugar-as-a-variable-when-feeling-depressive in concept. And at the time I was having a severe hard time getting over some stuff. And I found that like-clockwork I would start spiraling into dark areas of my mind, catastrophizing, etc. if I had skipped breakfast, if I had eaten breakfast but it was getting to be lunch time, if I was dilly-dallying in preparing dinner upon getting home. I guess anyone could have told me that, but it found me at the right time, and the association would help me press pause on the depressive mood-drops when they came, knowing I'd probably feel better if I had a proper meal. Helped me weather some rough times, between a rough spot in my interpersonal relationships, and transitioning from a sedentary lifestyle to a physically-demanding job. Thanks for reading my blog.

You're not depressed, OP, you just have the early stages of scurvy.
