I've been drinking illegally for years but I was a poor and was too scared to use my fake id anywhere other than ghetto liquor stores so I've mostly just drank standard-issue liquor. Particularly looking for interesting craft beer recommendations and good brands of whiskey, both middle shelf and expensive because I want to splurge a little.

Oban 14 Scotch if you don't have much money. Also consider Yamazaki 12 years if you can afford a little more or both. For bourbon, Old Rip Van Winkle's is the best I've ever had, possibly the best whiskey I've ever had. It's also crazy expensive and hard to get.
