nothing wrong with a small amount of juice once in a while. there's a reason juice glasses are like 4 or 5 oz. just don't drink a pint of it and treat it as your sugar intake for the day and you'll be fine.

i guess that's actually part of the problem, since people can get all kinds of food from everywhere they aren't just relying on a single sweet food item like people probably had to before, so they overdo it.

It's been controversial for a while. Probably because most people drink too much soda, stop drinking it when they realize it's unhealthy, and then learn that juice is still mostly sugar and water even if it's "natural". But they haven't learned that portion size matters yet.
