This shit only exists because they have to re-purpose old rotisserie chickens. Canned food at a food bank

I volunteered at one once to help sort out donations for the holidays and there was just something sad about the type of canned food people donate. Most of it was baked beans and random vegetables. The guy at the food bank talked about how they basically beg people to donate things like canned tuna or chicken, soups, chili, raviolis, and condensed milk so they can give people more "full meal" options but they rarely get any canned meat donations.

It doesn't sound bad. I would substitute the oranges for peaches or something else. I'm not sure walnuts would be good maybe some sliced almonds or graham cracker crumbs. Would definitely change the sour cream to plain yogurt. Fresh fruit: peaches, cherries, pineapple, a little granola, plain yogurt, and fresh whipped cream. Pretty much turn it into a parfait salad.

Oof. Heres my chili recipe.
You wanna start with a london broil roast in 1 inch cubes and a 6 pack of something dark and nutty. I used a chocolate porter but any stout or dark beer will do. Add a bottle and equal parts beef broth and cook on low-medium low for 4 hours covered adding salt pepper smoked paprika and ancho chili powder to taste. Once thats done put it to one side and fry up some bacon. Everyone has their favorite consistency so its your call how crispy you make it. Take the bacon out of the pan and set it aside. Next mince 5 cloves of garlic and dice 2 onions and sautee them in the bacon fat stirring regularly to prevent sticking and to ensure an even cook. Cut 2 large red peppers in half. Bruah them with olive oil and place in oven set to 375. Next add 2 large cans of crushed tomatoes to the beef and set on medium. Stir in 4 tablespoons of honey and half a cup of brown sugar. Mince the bacon and add to the mix of onions and garlic. Using a spatula scoop the mixture into the chili. Check the red peppers periodically and whem they are slightly black on the outside with significant skin separation take them out and place them in a bowl covered with plastic wrap. Next add between 1/2 to 2/3ds cup of heavy whipping cream to taste. At this point i added a little extra cayenne pepper and salt but that was a taste thing. Lastly mince up the red pepper after peeling the skin off (which should be easy thanks to the plastic wrap) and add to the chili. Cook on low for another hour

The flavour comes primarily from onion and cloves that are used in making the sauce, and apparently you're also meant to use nutmeg and bay leaves but I've never made it with those. Then of course salt and pepper are necessary too.

It's pretty easy to make or you can just buy a packet where you just add water or whatever. Even the packet stuff is worth trying.

I work at KFC and they just started a policy like that. We're allowed to eat one meal while we're on break, and nothing else. After close, all the unused food must thrown away, and it cannot be eaten, even if it was supposed to go in the trash. My theory is that they think people won't waste as much food if they can't eat the wasted food, but I'm not sure. All unused chicken is skinned and deboned and used for pot pies. I don't really have an issue with that, and I actually think it's a clever way to save money, but I hate the fact that we now have to debone the wings, even though there's hardly any meat on them. It takes about twelve songs to get enough meat for a pot pie.
