How do you like your wings, /ck/?

fried/baked/grilled?
drums/flats?
sauced/marinated/dry-rubbed?
favorite homemade recipes?

Discuss all things wings.

>> No.13446361

fried
flats
honey bbq or buffalo sauce

simple as.

>> No.13446376

>>13446285
Baked, preferably not crispy. I like soggy wings.
Drums preferred but flats are fine too.
Sauced - buffalo with a medium heat, but I like changing it up too. Blue cheese.
I don't know what "homemade" means, cooking at home is for losers without decent jobs

>> No.13446378

Baked
Flats
A nice dry rub seasoning

My second favorite is bonchon's spicey garlic.

Someone brought this place to my attention last night. Is it worth a 30 min drive?

>> No.13446514

Yes. The first time you bite into a bonchons wing and just chew for a couple seconds, you'll realize why it's so hyped. It's like a culinary revelation

Lightly dusted in well seasoned flour, fried. And I dip in what ever sauce I feel like whipping up.

You can use this method for baked as well, I just add a touch of frying oil, bit more salt in the flour, and crank the oven up. They turn out relatively crispy.

Right, and my preferred style of wing is boneless.

No one debones wings and serves them for you. "Boneless" wings are just sliced breast and are nuggets/tendies.

Fried, Xtra crispy
Drums
Frank's red hot with a splash of Whirl
Ken's supreme blue cheese
Carrots and celery
American macro lager of any kind, preferably cheap and ice cold.

Someone should do this. All that delicious dark meat without the hassle of the bones.

I've been saving up my bacon grease for the last year and finally I had a full mason jar full

Wings are cheap as fuck. You can get them for 25 cents a piece at most bars if you know what night to go.

Maybe in the 90's. Demand has grown quite a bit.

>> No.13447006

>>13446986
I guess it's more like 50 cent wing nights these days, which makes sense with inflation and all. Point is, wings are not expensive.

Fried or baked or baked and then fried.
Most sauces that aren't vinegar/tabasco/buffalo based bullshit.
Dry rub is okay too but not too much.
Favorite homemade is to just bake them in a huge batch with chicken powder and fry them whenever I want them by pulling them out of the fridge. Tossed with salt and pepper, lemon pepper or a spicy mix.

>>13447006
They’re at least $1 per wing at most places now. It’s fucking stupid.

Fried
Flats but prefer a mix of both
Pic related are the hottest wings I've ever had. They're from a local chain. I'm not normally a hotfag but these had great flavor as well as heat. I also like lemon pepper

My wife likes extra extra crispy wings, nearly burnt, left in the fryer until they are so dry they almost crumble into powder

is there a six? I dont do it regularly but mostly out of a liking twards marrow I cant quite explain I sometimes eat the cartilage and ends. If not im a five, leaving it with even alittle bit of meat is such a waste.

>> No.13447643

Between 3 and 4, depends if they are very well done or not. Sometimes it's a little tough or chewy, and gristle holds onto the bone too tightly.

Baked then fried, but I mostly do baked wings cause they're less a hassle.
flats
Sauced, but dry-rubbed are great when they're smoked
My family isn't much into cooking, so I don't really have homemade recipe.

I wanna have good honey and garlic wings, but i can't find a good and easy recipe or find a good sauce (tried the Torchbearer Honey Garlic sauce, but it doesn't stick to the chicken as a wing sauce, and they honey and garlic sauce separates if I try and marinate.) Anyone has a tip?

Both
Franks and melted butter

Baked crispy
Both types are good, but drums are slightly easier to eat
I prefer sauced, DR and marinade are also good though
I dont really have an original recipe for them, just an ever so slightly thicker hot sauce is good, BBQ is good, but my favorite are sesame wings.

Rate my sauce recipe
>fresno pepper
>cayenne pepper
>cut up and save as many seeds as possible, transfer to pot of water
>bring to a rolling boil
>transfer to blender while still hot and blend it
>no butter added because that's for pussies
>maybe add hotter peppers if you want
>pour on wings and let sit for a couple minutes
Pretty basic I know, what should I add?
