What’s up, king? My gf and I are both /fit/ and doing no sugar. I still have carbs, but it’s less than 40 grams per day and protein is on the higher side ~30/15/55. Just now I made a 2 grilled cheeses on flat bread (pic related), but also eat a lot of powdered peanut butter (no carbs) and homemade sugar free chocolate that I like to eat with bacon. Ignore you’re interested I can post more stuff I eat. Gf has more since she was doing this before we met lol.

I'm on keto now for 8 months.

Rule nr.1:
You do a 12 hour fast, in order for your body to get rid of all the "bad" fats in your system.
Don't eat between 8 pm and 8 am for example.

Rule nr.2:
No direct sources of carbs.
You eat vegetables, because there are vitamins and fiber in them, thats it.

rule nr.3:
If you eat carbs(more than 20 grams), you WILL FEEL SHITTY.
Because now you dont burn fat anymore.

rule nr.4:
Get enough salt, you cannot hold sufficient water if you dont - you just drink it and pee it out.

I eat 400 grams of salty frankfurters at work, plus some kale or pickles and a can of tuna, the one with the least carb rich sauce- dont eat most of the sauce.

The evening meal will consist mostly of ground beef/ pork (500grams) with fat blue cheese and mayonnaise.
Spice it up with salt, curry, chilli powder.

Remember that the beginning is the hardest, you will need to adapt.

Look up what the glycemic index is and avoid EVERYTHING that is high on it.

If you do these things, your body will be rendered UNABLE TO STORE FAT, as long as youre on keto.

-go to the beach
-get chicks

It's not really sustainable in my experience. That said it's good for permanent weight loss and fasting glucose readings, even after you relapse (regaining water weight doesn't count retards). Been keto (mostly) pescatarian for over 5 years now. Good overall health. Lost 30 pounds in the first year, kept the fat off. Low triglycerides, good serum cholesterol ratio, no issues. People think I look 10 years younger than I am now.

A ketogenic diet is not a miracle for weight loss. You still need to eat fewer calories and exercise to lose body fat. It absolutely will curb your hunger and food addictions, making it easier to lose weight. You must have the willpower to change your habits for one month before your body fully adapts to not eating like a pig. To answer your second question: you'll probably find you do not need to eat 2-3 full meals a day. At most, a snack at lunch time will be satisfying. Some nuts, cheese, carrot sticks, pumpkin seeds, or something similar will hold you over until after work. I usually just eat one meal a day. I may have one or two small snacks.

>> No.13387886

If you need to lose weight just do intermittent fasting. Start with 20:4 or OMAD - eat a big meal once a day and a snack or two if you need it. Drink black coffee/tea when hungry. You can eat whatever but pretty soon you'll find yourself craving things like big stir fries with lots of veggies. Gone from 163 to 83 this way.

Keto works and is pretty easy. You can get low carb bread if you really want to, but lunch is typically a salad, avocado, eggs, cold cuts, cheese.

You can also make pots of things like Chili, you just can't have any beans. But a big pot of Chili, using onion, garlic, chopped tomatoes, ground beef, spices, stock, Worcestershire sauce. Per portion is pretty low crab. Great if you top it with some sour cream and cheese as well.

Bolognese also works, and you can use zucchini spaghetti, and it’s a really good substitute. Making big batches of meals like this and eating them over 4 days or so makes Keto really easy.

>>13385821
I bet you didn’t eat enough vegetables. Lots of people who do Keto end up just eating meat and cheese, but you really should be eating lots of green vegetables, things like avocados and zucchini. Also you have to make sure to keep your electrolytes up. I do Keto, but I make sure to take vitamins once in a while and potassium and magnesium pills. Also a cup of broth can help if you’re feeling particularly tired.

>> No.13387943

You can have berries and cherries on Keto as well btw, not many but berries are lower in carbs than other fruit. What’s great is the frozen kind, that way if you’re really craving something sweet, you can have a couple straight from the freezer, like a frozen snack. You can also make ice cream with them if you have a powerful enough blender, you basically mix a few berries with heavy cream and some 0 carb sweetener.

Yes you do. If you are on a weight loss diet, daily exercise will maintain a favorable lean muscle mass to body fat ratio. If you are not on a weight loss diet, daily exercise will maintain a favorable lean mass and cardiovascular health. Additionally, exercise reduces insulin resistance, which may turn out to be one of the main causes of heart disease.

Every human being should exercise at least 30 minutes every day.

Dont forget those fibres that your body can't digest, they're great for you. Just have to tolerate the constipation and eat a yogurt to fix it.

soooo
what about keto makes you lose more weight?
if two people with the same height, weight, and activity levels went on a 1200 calorie per day diet - one ate a balanced diet and the other went keto - why would the one on keto lose more weight?

i did keto meme for 5 months for lunch i made salads mixed with stuff a lot of the time. fried salmon filet that sort of thing. indian food was pretty good for it too made some pretty good keto palak paneer. fat head pizzas were pretty good too just keep almond flour and mozzarella around to make it can also eat the mozzarella as a snack in slices. when i stopped doing keto my weight didn't go up at all from the water weight gaining I never tried those keto strips either so im kinda curious if I was even in ketosis

They're simply more satiated, and less bothered by hunger and cravings, for the fact of feeling fuller longer, and not deprived. Though it's an odd diet that one can find very hard to do, the portion control for vegetables and meat is no big deal. Eat til you fill full.

That's it.

People like keto because they can gobble up bacon, steak, etc.

It's not for everyone, and it can cause health side effects. Ask yourself how successful you've been dieting in the past, and what were the weak points.

One theory is that sugar with fat makes it more convenient for the body to store fat into cells.
Other is the process of transforming stored energy into something the body can use is different if you rely on ketones, you're constantly tapping into fat reserves rather than halting that process in favor of using the easier carb process.
Like youre eating same amount, but spending different amount.

do you actually delude yourself into believing your body knows your caloric maintenance because you’ve stopped eating a certain macronutrient?
and we’ve already addressed that fatty foods are the least satiating according to countless blind clinical trials

you’re dumber than a nigger
there are no theories
you don’t need a theory to know what happens to excess sugar in the body
it’s converted to fat
so guess what
when you eat at a caloric deficit, keto or not, you’re burning fat storage for energy

>> No.13390735

Keto, from what I hear, mainly helps you lose water weight. Meme diets are so shitty because people stand to make a profit off of people in your situation. Anyway, after that, just eat less, or at the very least less sugary calorie dense foods. Instead of a pint of ice cream every night have a bite or two at the end of a meal, or maybe save that one pint for the weekend.

I certainly wouldn't advocate binging on sugar to break a long fast, bu there's no reason to be any kind of strict keto either. Your window out of ketosis might be a couple hours in several days with a fast routine. IME you don't notice a difference. Shredding for summer ottermode can be done with or without keto, but it really can't be efficiently and quickly done without fasting.

it does though and you can look up every single trial in the leftmost column to see the difference in weight loss
or you’re free to link just one clinical trial with a sample size > 30 that proves the keto diet causes more weight loss than a traditional calorie deficit

I did it for a few months and lost 17kg. Stopped it because I missed too many foods and cooking for other people without such strict rules, but it did cause me to stay relatively low-carb afterwards. Funny how your craving for sugar just goes away after you cut it out for a while.

For lunch I was typically eating smoked / cured meats and olived. It's not bad but gets old. The truth is unless you go really all-in on buying a whole new cupboard's worth of ingredients you probably aren't going to be looking at a ton of variety or anything exceptionally appetizing; I rotated between 4 or 5 simple meals, that shitty butter coffee for breakfast and berries with cream, jerky or nuts as snacks.

All things considered it's not so different from a regular diet in that you need discipline, but you'll see and feel results faster. I'm glad I did it just because it helped cure my sugar addiction, but it was really no fun at all while it lasted

Been in Keto for about 6 months and lost about 20 pounds. It was hard at first but I got used to it once I know what to buy and cook.

There's a lot of recipes for keto bread that uses almond/coconut flour out there but I usually just order mine online for 10 bucks since I don't have an oven yet. Eat them with cheese, meat, and some onions/peppers and I'm generally good for the day. Eating a couple of meatballs or sausages can also fill you up for the day. I'm also used to making my own desserts with erythrytiol so regular sugar tastes too much for me.

Hardest part about Keto are the drinks. You're limited to shit like Water and Coke zero because most commercial drinks out there have a shit ton of sugar so I can't eat out much without bringing my own drink.

Who the fuck misses drinks? Oh boo-hoo, I can't drink milk anymore. Water is all you need.

The hardest part about keto is not eating bread.

This to me. I can't understand a food world without bread. Drinks? I've only drank soda for the caffeine for about 12 years now and coffee wasn't available (rare situation), probably since b4 then too but never drank it then anyway.

I'm not a huge bread snob and don't mind keto bread so I'm not missing it as much. I also have Korean BBQ every month or so and water just does not do a good job of washing the aftertaste you get from eating a shit ton of overcooked meat.

I take back what I said about drinks being the hardest thing though. It's noodles; because the only alternatives are shirataki noodles and that shit smells, isn't filling, and has a weird texture. It can never replace udon and pasta for me but I've learned to live without it for some time.
