>breaking the noodles
shoulda just brought macaroni or some other shorter shaped pasta. shortened spaghetti noodles are unmanageable. too long to spoon up, too short to twirl with a fork. cherry on top

How did this nonsense of breaking your pasta in half actually start? Is it simply because people don't know how pasta is eaten correctly or something?

It makes sense if you're cooking with small pots. Pot in OP looks like it would fit the whole pasta though so that's actually nonsense there. Stupid weebs don't know shit.

nope, the camping pot is tiny its actually not wrong to break it in that case

But those initial 10-15 seconds don't mean anything, though. And not to mention breaking it in half hasn't really changed how much space said pasta occupies in your pot.

You want to conserve water, bulk, dishes and weight when camp cooking. It basically sucks, but autists reacting over the OP image thinking cooking outside is comparable to your home kitchen are idiots.

How did this meme about it being terrible to break pasta before cooking start? Is it simply because people don't know you can still eat pasta without needing five feet of unbroken noodle to twirl around your fork?
Honestly I wouldn't bother breaking pasta but I think people who get upset about this are stupid.

does anime exist so that autistic japanese men can explain their hobbies in detail via a self insert cute girl character?

that's half of what happens in mainstream detective novels, the detective miraculously shares the exact same interests in wine making or model trains that the author does IRL

it's always a 12 year old girl with green hair doing computer programming, or classical music, or making espresso, or collecting watches... AKA all stuff that only autistic men care about

>> No.13371216

>>13371168
There's tons of manga/anime that feature detailed explanations for certain activities and hobbies. Its usually just plot filler, but sometimes the actual premise of the work depends on demonstrating as many ways as you can.

Its literally almost never some 12 year old girl with green hair, it just depends on the genre.

For example: two series about the hobby of airsoft guns. One is a comedy so its about a group of highschool girls, the other is more of a romance so its two older men and a girl who looks like a boy.

If you're cooking in a smallish pot it can take a while for the pasta to soften up enough to fully submerge. I once had to coax some bucatini for like over a minute starting from a rolling boil until it fully submerged and it was obvious that half of each strand was undercooked.
