For me, it's the McChicken. The best fast food sandwich. I even ask for extra McChicken sauce packets and the staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for McChicken sauce packets and they gave me three. I said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly McDonald's worker laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!".

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three packets. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local McDonald's restaurant, I go there at least 3 times a week for lunch and a large iced coffee with milk instead of cream, 1-2 times for breakfast on the weekend, and maybe once for dinner when I'm in a rush but want a great meal that is affordable, fast, and can match my daily nutritional needs.

I even dip my fries in McChicken sauce, it's delicious! What a great restaurant.

Then bread roll cut in half with cheese roast beef or bacon or other plain cold cut (basically anything that's not loaded with spices) then way to much onions then cheese.
Butter both sides and put in pan to toast with a bowl or lid over it and a put a bit of water around it so it steams.

>I'm in the mood for a really good sandwich.
>What is your favorite one?
Do people really have the ability to name a favorite like it's easy to narrow it down to just 1?

I very much enjoy a homemade chicken salad just for the preplanned effort of it all, and that balance of sweet, salty, savory and different textures. Poach chicken breasts in some water, stock, wine, herbs, etc. Drain and cool in the fridge before cubing up. Sometimes I go with curry-mustard-mayo-mango chutney-chili paste sauce, with some diced green onion, red bell pepper, apple or dried apricots, walnuts, cilantro. Sometimes I go clean flavors with just mayo, celery, sour cream, dill or tarragon, lemon zest. Sometimes it's nutty-fruity. Whatever compliments my bread.

I love the day after St. Patricks, warming the sliced corned beef in a pan first with onions or kraut til crispy and hot. good deli mustard like batampe, and maybe I'll griddle the seeded rye or swirl bread into a full reuben.

Looking at OPs abomination, that reminds me my favorite Cuban is the Croqueta Preparada, but there's also a quite popular steak sandwich on all cuban menus, that is really all about the bread. Those 3 packs of thin steaks pan fried, lots of sliced onion in the pan. These super thin steaks seasoned on each side with pinch of sazon goya, or cumin, garlic, pepper, oregano, browned on each side, deglazed with a splash of vinegar or lime juice. Fresh cuban bread, sliced ripe tomato, tons of crunchy potato sticks, shredded lettuce, smashed and griddled with garlic butter. Maybe some mojito on the side, or some sweet plantains (garlic, olive oil, lime juice).

Rubens are fantastic but there is one sandwich that is better.

The Smoked Brisket sandwich.

Rubens are Brisket too but when you have Texas BBQ smoked brisket on a sandwich its amazing.

The chain Arby's is a fast food version trying to copy the BBQ Beef Sandwich and they do a terrible job.

Iam talking about real Smoked Brisket off a smoker that has been cooking for 9 hours. Its the best in the world.

And as usual here, the truth is overlooked. One solitary post beaming light onto the godless unwashed reuben and monte cristo plebs. A way through the culinary wilderness in which you all shuffle along, ignorant. The BLT is the best sandwich. So simple and hard to fuck up yet its potential within a meager four ingredients is nearly boyndless, only curtailed by the skills of the gastroman. Sourdough toasted just perfectly, mayo on both slices (you want mayo in contact with the bacon), tomatoes sliced to best possible thickness and ABSOLUTELY ripe enough to be completely red, and bacon with crunch yet chewiness. And as with all sandwiches, what makes them great is getting the portions of each ingredient correct. Only a fool would pile extra bacon on a BLT because "BACON GOOD DUUHHRR." You would all do good to emulate this lone poster of truth.

I just made something like this for dinner the other night, turned out delicious but I ended up spending like $38 on various ingredients. Obviously there's some carryover but still. Anyways I used 3 or 4 Italian deli meats, mayo, tiny spread of horseradish, sliced Anaheim pepper, havarti cheese, bit of black pepper, tomato slices. Toasted it open face to get a good melt on the cheese. I really enjoyed the Anaheim pepper slices honestly, a very nice balance between green pepper and banana/jalapeno pepper.

Liverwurst. Sliced black olives, seeds discarded. Minced sundried tomatoes. Shredded mozzarella cheese, or any equally lightly flavored cheese. Capers. Sliced sour pickles. Anchovies-- minimal, but enough to get some in every bite. The bread should be pumpernickel or the most tasteless white bread you can get your hands on. The experience is very different, but just as good.
