I don't know man, there's a lot of variables. Is the shrimp raw or cooked? Packaged and previously Frozen or fresh from a fishmonger? How long did it take from buying them to getting them home and cold? What temperature is your fridge? Are you a Capricorn?
Just smell the shrimp and eat them if they haven't gone off.

Use by date is a fucking meme and it's more what the market goes by to be considered "fresh" enough to reasonably sell to a customer. Look up some graphs on general food freshness based on type and you'll be able to not waste so much food.
