Why didn't anyone tell me that cognac was so delicious? I used to like sipping whiskey but I'm converted

Probably fake Applejack, because applejacking requires you to freeze distill which concentrates the methanol.

I'd buy the fuck out of that if my Costco had it. I did score a Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, a Four Roses Single Barrel and a Redbreast 12 at Costco the other day, though, so I can't complain.
I buy Remy Martin VSOP every so often at Costco.

No I'm saying it doesn't use the applejacking process. I'm sure it apples the living shit out of the jack.

>> No.13345492

>>13345471
I'm gonna hop on my distillers horse. Applejacking is freeze distilling an already fermented product. So you remove water and concentrate the alcohol. With fruit and the accompanying pectinase you get a lot of methanol. That methanol is concenrated by the freeze distilling process. I don't know know where I was going with this.

You need to get into single malts. They're leather, bookcase, salt, candle wax. Nothing more absolute than a lagavulin.

Look at Scotland from Annie Lennox's view.

Cognac & brandy are my favorite. My local brewery has a brandy that was aged in their Madagascar vanilla stout that I've grew quite fond of. Maison Rouge is my go to yak & cheap enough to use in recipes that require yak/ brandy so that I'm not wasting it. About to stock up on some good rapple brandy for Christmas.

What?

WHAT?

First of all, single malt does not have to be leathery and smoky and all that. There are enough sweetlike single malts out there.

Secondly: IPA is such a wide term, there are many great IPAs that are not super duper scroungy face bitter hoppy. Many are very enjoyable slow drinkers, many are very enjoyable easy drinkers.

Dark chocolate it shit. Too bitter, not nice. Sweet chocolate is better. My wife likes it tho (inb4 cuck, she hates niggers tho and there is almost no niggers in my country)

A fine drink. My bet is that it's repackaged Martell XO, as Martell makes a good XO, but because its VS and VSOP are associated with the rap set, the XO doesn't sell well. But that's just a guess.

For about the same price, give this fella a try. An OP, not XO, but still very nice. Lots of oak, but not a vanilla bomb. Very smooth, as you'd expect from an OP. Drinks maybe $20-30 above its price.
